That looks like a open gash from something. I would seriously suggest you take your piggy to the vets

I agree, looks like a gash, that has opened up more when the pig has been moving his head around. Hope you get it sorted. Will need an antibiotic to stop infection and see what the vet can do with that wound. Good thing is, its in a place where he cant bite at it. Unless another pig does

He is currently alone and hes moving his head around a lot and eating

Have you managed to get a vet appointment for him yet?
That must be painful, and the sooner it is treated the less likely it is that he will get an infection.

Do you have any idea how he did it?
Maybe check his cage carefully to make sure there is nothing sharp in there.

:agr: Please take your piggy to a vet as soon as possible. That looks nasty and an infection can take hold quickly.

Have you taken your piggy to a vet yet? It looks really sore. Let us know what the vet says.

I moved him to a different cage the vet said it's just a skin infect and he is on medicine resting

Hes doing fine we dont know how he got it hes at home resting in a temporary cage hes still eating and drinking and being very lively he should be okay it's a nasty skin infection I have him on antibiotics twice a day

Very pleased to hear he's on the road to recovery, so is your vet suggesting that this wasn't caused by him cutting it on something? Does your piggy have another cage mate that could've caused it?

No he doesnt have another cage mate the other day when I came home my outside cat was inside (I think he slipped inside when my mom was bringing in groceries) and I found him by the cage it didnt look like he did any damage then but maybe I missed something we are being alot more careful with the cat now

As long as potential hazards are eliminated and the gash is healing nicely, no harm done. How is your piggy now? Still continuing to heal?
