I had my guinea pig Beth die on Wednesday morning. I posted another thread on here thinking it was maybe a heart issue and with all of your guys help and answers it helped a lot. But now last night my beautiful guinea pig TinyTina died. She was fine in the morning she ate her normal morning treat and was letting my pet her and when I came home later that day from my moms. But around 9pm I noticed she was laying down and just barley moving her head. So I went to go get her and she was dying. I try to give her some cpr and I felt her die in my arms. I just can’t believe two out of three of my pigs died within two days of each other. I need help you guys. Could they have caught something? I never take them anywhere except to the vet. I feed them organic, locally grown veggies and fruits, and I even if I can’t get organic I ALWAYS take the skin off of fruits and veggies after I wash them in case there are any pesticides left over. I don’t know what happened. As you see again I don’t take them anywhere they have a huge c and c cage, top quality food and hay, and they’re by a window for fresh air. What is going on? I can’t believe this is happening to me. It’s just all so sudden. Is there anything anything you guys could tell me about contagious diseases? I will be taking my final guinea pig to the vet Monday and it’s a specialty vet and I moved her from the big cage to an old rabbit cage I had. Please if anyone has answer please tell me. I need to know what to do.

I am so, so sorry to hear this news.
My heart goes out to you and I wish I had an answer for you.
It may be that the health experts can help - all I can do is remind you that you are not alone in your shock and grief.
We are here to support you.

Hope all goes well at the vets tomorrow with your girl.
Let us know how you get on.

Be gentle with yourself and remember that when you experience a second loss to close to the first it’s like starting to grieve for both from scratch. Be gentle with yourself

I am so sorry for your second sudden loss. I do hope that the vet visit tomorrow helps put your mind at rest.

So sorry you have lost two piggies so suddenly. Sending you big hugs x
Hoping your other piggie will be ok x

I am so sorry to hear about your multiple losses in such a short time.
You are clearly a very committed owner, and are doing everything right for your piggies.

One thing to consider might be carbon monoxide levels near the pigs cage?
Do you have a monitor or any way of checking this?

I think it is unlikely this is the problem, but it is the only thing that springs to mind right now.
I hope you gwt to the bottom of it and the vet is able to give your remaining piggy a clean bill of health.

BIG HUGS

I am so sorry that you are experiencing what is all our worst nightmare right now!

Please have the survivor vet checked. Hopefully it is just a very unfortunate coincidence, but there are some real nasty (but thankfully rare) bugs around which you can't necessarily avoid even with the best of care. Sadly only a post mortem examination at the vets might give you the answers you crave.
All we can do is speculate and guess as wildly as you do, and that is not going to help you one bit. :(

I just want to say thank you to everyone who is very caring. It’s just such a shock of course. My last guinea pig Maggie seems to be doing well for now. She’s eating, drinking, playing, and of course being her ditsy self. I gave her some carrots to boost her vitamin c and she seems to be okay just looking for her sister. Once I know what’s going on and after I clean and rebuy everything I’ll of course be getting her some new play mates. Hugs to all of you!
