i just recently got my first guinea pig (abyssinian) about a week and a half ago and about three days ago i noticed his ear looked a bit dry and scaley, so i left it alone to see if it would heal. today i looked at it and it has gotten red scabs and a bloody scab that healed a few days ago. i’m really worried that it’s ring worm and i don’t know what to do. somebody please help!

It would be best for you to take him to a veterinarian to get it checked out. If it is ringworm, it can spread to you, so you may want to start wearing gloves when handling him just in case. How is he doing otherwise (eating/pooping/peeing normally?)

I think we’re due for a piggy play date! This weekend I’m free but you need to figure out what’s is wrong with your amazing piggy Basils ear ASAP love him!

thank you! ive been trying between miconazole and put an antibiotic cream safe for the piggy’s ears! hopefully he feels better real soon!

Have you had him seen by a vet? Treating something at home when you don't know what the problem is could make diagnosis more difficult for a vet or could make the problem worse

I agree with Lady Kelly.
It is very important that you do not try and treat these things at home.
Using a mixture of 2 different creams is also not a good idea.

You may improve things outwardly for a while, but the problem won't be cured, and you will simply mask the symportoms, making it harder for a vet to diagnose properly.
It does look like it could be fungal so please take your guinea pig to a vet.
Also be very careful when handling him, as if it is ring worm this can be transferred to humans too.
