I have two guinea pigs in my garden in a big posh hutch, I live in the ik. I’ve noticed these big black bugs in the wood of the hutch I searched them up and they are called devil coach house beetles and they have really bad bites they look like this..

I have two guinea pigs in my garden in a big posh hutch, I live in the ik. I’ve noticed these big black bugs in the wood of the hutch I searched them up and they are called devil coach house beetles and they have really bad bites. Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do I’m scared for my Guinea pigs?

It looks similar to an earwig. I don’t think they would harm a piggy but I would get rid of them anyway. A good thorough clean every week with a good pet safe disinfectant should work. Keep doing it weekly until the adults and all eggs and larvae have gone. I think they like damp places so try and keep the hutch as dry as possible.
