haii, my pigs currently live in a 2x5 c&c cage, my mum hates them so much, she wants them outside. By the end of today i either have to move them into my room, garage or outside otherwise my mum is going to get rid of them, and i don’t want them to go. i can’t have them in my room because it is too small and i have no space. They can go in my garage, but i am worried because there is a boiler in there and i’m worried about carbon monoxide leaks, and i can’t have them outside because i’ve seen foxes in my garden. does anyone have any suggestions, i have 6 hours.

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear that you are in a tough position. Is there any way that you can explain to your Mum that piggies really shouldn't live outisde - maybe you can show her some of the guides on the forum explaining it? Failing that, I know you say you have no room, but is there a way you can rearrange/ get rid of some stuff in your room (even temperarily) so that they can stay in there until you can sort somthing out - even if it means reducing thier cage size to a 2x4 for a night or two. Hope you manage to sort somthing out x

Try to squeeze them into your room. Living in a 3x2 shouldn't be too bad for a while. Are they girls? Are they older piggies? Why does your mom dislike them? Is she concerned about hygiene? Living in a family can be tricky sometimes 😔

i unfortunately have mental health issues to the point where i can’t possibly have them in my room, i wish i could put them in there, luckily they have a 3metre outdoor run, for now i’ve decided to put them in the garage just for nighttime, i have put a carbon monoxide alarm in there too.

they are girls and they are both older pigs, one is 6 and a half and the other is 4, my mum doesn’t like the smell, i try to prevent the smell as much as i can? i change the fleece every 2 days, as we all know hay goes everywhere 😭 i’ve decided on the garage with a carbon monoxide alarm, because i have mental health issues that prevent them from being able to go in my room, they do have an outdoor run thats 3 metres which they can be in for the majority of the day ^^

I hope things work out. Could you get a hutch to keep them warm in the garage?

A hutch in the garage with carbon monoxide monitoring does seem to be your best option here.
You will need to make sure you have a thermometer on the hutch so you ensure they don’t get too hot or too cold in there, along with all other associated measures (hutch covers, heat pads for winter etc).
If you have foxes in the garden then they really can’t be outside unsupervised in your case.

(Although I would just say that it is not a case that piggies shouldn’t be outside and the forum guides don’t state that they should never be kept outside - many of us do indeed keep our piggies outside or in sheds - but it is about taking all predator, heat and cold precautions, and sometimes it’s just not possible to control all those things).
