HI THERE AM NEW TO HERE BUT I NEED SOME HELP
IS MILTON OR PINE DISINFECTANT OK TO WASH THERE HUTCHES OUT WERE HAVE LOTS OF PROBS WITH OUR PIGGYS
PLZ CAN SOMEONE HELP US OUT

Pine disinfectant no, milton...probably wouldn't chance it either....I don't know.
What problems have you had with pigs?
If I had ringworm etc in the pigs which requires a full scale clean out, I would probably take the pigs well away from the area/hutch, dilute bleach in water (maybe 1 part bleach to 10 parts water) wear marigolds! and give it a good scrub. It would need tons of plain clean water to wash it out and a good couple of hours airing before pigs could go back in

my dad used to do his rabbit huts with very well diluted jeyes fluid but again hut needs a few hrs to thourly dry out prehaps someone else might know if this is ok for piggies i personally use bob martin cage disenfectant which is anti bacterial ,anti fumgal and anti viral it too has to be left to dry before putting piggies back

Personally
Diluted miltons ok But Disinfectant no
If ringworm It can stay in the wood work for for a couple of years and i'd burn a wooden hutch
But if plastic Scrub away and lots of hot water ( have one for any suspect cases!) but rinse and leave to dry for a day or two to make sure ok

welcome to the forums from me and the girls from oz. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: am so sorry for all the losses you have had :'( :'( :'( RIP sweet darlings run free and popcorn in paradise, find eternal peace more angels in the clouds. 0:) 0:) 0:)
i am no expert but would say it sounds viral to make so many miscarroage and for one mummy to pass on. i would dilute bleach scrub out cage let it air. would also take piggies to vet and perhaps get poops and urine tested. as for the ribena have read that some people use it. really hoping your piggies get better, perhaps find another vet.
if you put where you live perhaps someone can recomend a vet for you. again welcome and so sorry for all your losses :'( :'( :'( and good for you taking them in and nursing them back to health and opening your heart to them. RIP angels you found love and happiness at the end 0:) 0:) 0:) hoping some one can help you. sending hugs and healing vibes :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Hi and welcome from us in OZ also :)
Mary has given you some wonderful advice O0
I don't use a disinfectant to clean out our boys house, i use a mild detergent and then very carefullly wipe out again with clean water and then dry it with another cloth and then also let it air O0
I'd be getting the piggies to the vet and asking for some poop and urine tests also, it sounds like they maybe inbred? were they ex breeding piggies maybe they've had too many litters... so many possabilities :-\ :-\
RIP piggies 0:) 0:) 0:) run free at the bridge, there's lots of lovely piggies for you to play with and they'll show you where all the best grass and dandelions are to munch on :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
As for ribena i too was advised to use this when our little guy was very ill, he didn't like it, but i do know of people who use it, but they do dilute it quite a bit and make sure their piggies have plain water to drink as well. Hope we've all been able to help you even just a little. Again i'm so sorry for your losses it's never easy to loose a little one and you've been so unlucky to loose so many :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Let us know how you go O0

I use the new Clorox Anywhere once month. It is made to be safe to use around babies or in places where you are going to fix food too. It doesn't have that strong smell and is much safer. Spray it and let it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse if you want to. Also, you can use a mix of apple cider vinegar, rubbing alcohol (very small amount), and water or just vinegar and water.

ty all very much for the help u r stars
one more thing how do i get my pics on here to let u see our piggys

I'm not sure why she died, possibly she was too young to be pregnant and her body simply couldn't cope. Maybe she had an infection after the miscarriage.
