My mum dropped one of my guineapigs, Ringo, this morning when she went to pick her up, ringo squirmed and rolled and mum lost her grip. She didn't fall very far, but she squeaked abit afterwards, kinda like crying. Mum gave her a huge hug and told her she was sorry and we put them in their cage. An hour later mum found about three pools of blood in the cage and blood running down ringo's legs. She didn't seem to worried *** she was still eating, sleeping and walking around, but I'm not convinced. A while later I went out and my mum thought she had stopped, but there was another pool of blood, this time it wasn't as watery as the other, it was all blood. Ringo still seems fine but I'm terrified. I've heard stories about pigs who get dropped and die. We can't take her to the vet either because it's the weekend and they are closed.
I don't know what to do. Can I give her anything or do anything to help her...
Please Help!

sorry if this seems a daft question but have you examined her to see of there is any sign of where the blood is coming from?

Yes, we did. It is come out of her. There is no wounds on her so it is defiently coming out of her when she wee's.

I think the best thing you can do is to keep her warm, monitor the pools of blood and see how it goes over the weekend and then get her to the vet when you can...

Someone with more experience will comment soon enough I'm really sorry I can't help you more, however the fact that she is eating and seems ok within herself is a pretty good sign :)

Sending you all my thoughts

Oh My. Little Ringo, poor girl. She may have something wrong with her bladder. But I think you should take her to the vet when there open.

Keep her warm and comfy, make sure she is drinking to make up for the loss of blood and get her to the vets asap tomorrow!

She looks like she has an internal injury.

Treat her for shock. Keep her warm, quiet and give her fluid, rehydration fluid is ideal, failing that, water.

I too would hazard a guess that she has some internal injury, perhaps to the kidneys? As AP says keep her quiet, warm and somewhere dark where she will feel safe. Make sure you get plenty of fluids into her, dioralyte you can get from any chemist.

Hey love how's Ringo? were you able to speak to an emergency vets at all?
Have you tried ACS they're based in QLD they maybe able to help you :)
they also have a website if you look up ACS on google it will take you straight to their site......they may know of a vet in your area.
Sending loads of healing wheeeeeeeeeks and loves to Ringo xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

i agree about it being possibly internal,i wouldnt wait for a vet, there will be one somewhere in driving distance open, its not worth the risk of not going. small falls can result in horrific injurys(i found out the hard way),i hope all is ok and ringo is better soon xxxxxx
