The problem with Vaseline is that it is greasy, it is not absorbed like Bepanthen, and it tends to pick up bits and pieces of hay etc.
I use B. on my pigs and it really does have a beneficial effect.
I have just re-read your last post!!
Fair comment, Vaseline whilst bathing them but then remove it and use B. ointment!
 
CW I got your PM this morning but only just saw the thread, so sorry you're having a nightmare with it all. My Poppet had the worst fungal infection ever - she was shedding hair from her middle right down to her bum and had a patch of it right around her eye, as well as behind her ears! She had many open sores as well as loads of flaking when I used the Nizoral, and cruel as I felt I didn't waterproof the open sores with anything whilst bathing. The trick with the nizoral is to really work it into the skin with your fingertips, especially on flaking areas. Then let the shampoo sink in for a further 5 minutes, which may end up seeming like you've been bathing the pig for ages! When dry, use canestan cream on the sores, really rub it in. The relief to your pig will be instant. You can repeat the bathing in around 5 days (ish) but you can apply the canestan up to about three times per day, I hope you're getting on OK :)
