Help!

When I moved out of my x bf's house 2 and a half years ago, a good friend took in 2 of my boys, as I didn't have the space for all of them in my temp accommodation.. One has since passed away:0 and now there's just Tobias.. I had a text the other day, asking for me to send some money, as he's getting his nails trimmed..
I've been sat here thinking.. should I go and get him? He's all alone now, and probably missing the sounds of other Guineas.. trouble is, he's very hard to pal up.. got a real attitude towards other males, and it took several attempts to pal him up with his last cage mate..
I'm worried that fetching him will open up a can of worms so to speak, as my two cats are there (he adopted them off me) and he may ask me to take them too.. My Oh is not fond of cats, and I don't want to force the issue on him..
I don't want to burden the RSPCA or Cats protection league, but it may come to it..
One is a Devon Rex cross called Garfield.. a ginger tom, un-neutered (be 4 on Xmas day), but doesn't go out (house cat), the other is a neutered black and white female called Sox who can go out but won't, who's in her teens.. I'm getting increasingly worried, as I know I just want to cut all ties with this friend now, as he's my only attachment to my past there.. What should i do?

I think you should def go get him, it will be much better for him to hear and smell other pigs even if he has to live alone.
if your friend has adopted the cats off you, then surely they are your friends now and he will probably be used to them being around if they are house cats. Are you paying for the 'upkeep' of the cats or just Tobias? if not, then i would safely assume the cats are officially his. x

Well with the cats, he never lets on as to how they are.. I'm very tempted to get Tobias, as I do miss his very vocal voice (he's one of those attention seekers), will discuss this with Oh later, as still have a spare cage.. I have a feeling that one of the cats will fall ill, and he'll expect me to fix it, though on this, I'll remind him he's on the dole, and the RSPCA help low earners like him, and he could get help at a greatly reduced rate, compared to the inflated prices I'd get..

Hi I think that you should say to your friend that you want to take the guinea pig back if its ok with him as they dont like to live alone and that you want to put him with your other guinea pigs (even if you dont, and say want to get him castrated and put him with a female if hes hard to pair up with males) As for the cats if hes never asked for money towards food and stuff then technically theyre his now, its not fair for him to ask for money only when medical costs are needed, and I would put that to him if the occasion arose as if they were yours he would of asked for money towards theyre upkeep and I'm presuming he never has? Plus if hes on the dole and recieves either Housing or council tax benefits (or both) if you have a PDSA near by then medical treatment for injurys or illness is free (things like castrating, trimming of things, innoculations etc are chargeable) Hope it helps

did you give him the animals or was it a temp arrangement until you could take them back?

if it was temp then i would also either look for a new home for the cats OR ask him what he wants to do with the cats? keep them or does he want you to find them a home!

He knows I don't really have the space for them here, and seems happy to keep the cats (he's lonely, so I guess he'd miss the company). he's never asked for me to pay for their upkeep, and not for the Guinea pig either, except for vet bills (piggy only).. I only ever hear from him, if some was wrong with Tobias or his brother, but that's it.. I'm waiting to hear back from him, as I tried to contact him last night, but phone was off..
