hey all, dreary old me again ;)

wasn't sure if this was meant to be in general chat or here but it has some talk about my animals in it so ... yeah.

I thought things were getting better, financially and with my marriage. Turns out I was wrong. He lied to me about another thing, which results in me havin 50 pounds to live on this month. i'm not sure what to do.

I'm worried that I'm not going to have a house to live in or that I'm going to have to move out... I don't know where my pets would go. so, I guess what I'm asking is would anyone be willing to foster them, rescue or private home, untill I am in a better position? I know it's asking a lot but I would really appreciate it. I have all their food and bedding and stuff like that... I just need to know above all that they are safe and have a place to live.

thanks to anyone who replies. xx

Nightmare, what a mess I'm slightly concerned with who is going to pay Vet fee's for these animals as if you don't have any money how will you afford to maintain them if they go to foster, as you as the owner are responsible for all Costs.

It is good news that you didn't foster any more animals. As it could have been a huge mess.

I guess this really puts things in perspective for everyone, they maybe cute and fluffy but they cost a great deal of money. Anything can happen, I have two pigs at present who need ongoing vet treatment that have spent the last year being healthy, so Vet Costs cannot be ruled out things can happen at any time especially during pregnancy.

As your girls are possibly pregnant they will need to go to a very experienced home. Hopefully one of the rescues that has helped already maybe able to help with the possibly pregnant females, as for me they are high priority and cannot go to just anyone. Perhaps ask them directly and see if they can help further.

Good Luck x

flinstones I love you dearly but sometimes you are the most unhelpful person in the world. I do not need a lecture, or you talking like your better than me. I am so unhappy right now you have NO IDEA.

Imagine having this happen to you? What would you want said to you huh?

yeah id have to come get them mind as you dont drive (they best not get carsick) I'm sure if i spoke to emma (my girlfriend) she would be happy to foster or keep a few

I don't want to put a spanner in the works, but Gizmo, have you dealt with pregnant pigs before? As there can be quite costly complications if this is the case.

The fact you seem to not know guineas can't in fact vomit at all, let alone get carsick, worries me, no offence meant but Lexy don't rush into giving them away - they need someone experienced from what I know of your situation.

If they were pregnant they would have started to put weight on which they haven't. so I don't think they are. x

Lexy it is important you inform people the animals maybe potentially pregnant. If they are over a year old they are likely to have complications, so a rescue is the best place for them.

I seriously think you getting your animals into a good place were they will be looked after is a good idea, then you can concentrate on you, getting your life and finances in order.

You need to get to a place were you are happy, the point of life is not to be miserable but it takes work to get there.

ETA: As it was only 3 weeks ago, they take upto 6 weeks before they start showing signs so they may still be pregnant. It is important it's not ruled out as it is still possible.

Depends on how far gone they are - Honey didn't start having a noticeable gain til she was 4-5 weeks gone.

While Gizmo's offer is very kind please do NOT rush into this - do you know Gizmo and his/her setup well? Does it suit your pigs exactly?

you mis interpreted what i meant about the car sickness it was a joke ... nevermind i have had accidental litters before with smudge a few years ago (now over the bridge) and am aware of how much work is involved in looking after preg pigs and litters although you bring one very valid point if they are pregnant isnt moving them going to cause un-necessary stress don't try to make me out as some sort of tool just because you miss interpreted something.....

What's a tool? Like a screwdriver?! :{

Sorry but I take things on face value here, and personally think these pigs need to go somewhere knowledgable with funds available for emergency vet care if needed, I know nothing of your financial situation but would you be prepared to pay £200 plus for emergency call out/C section/after care should it arise?

I'm sorry Lexy this needs to be said:

She is NOT the most unhelpful person in the world. She is giving you sound advice that is the absolute truth. You're upset because it's rung true and hit a nerve with you. That is your issue, not hers.

I'm going to close this thread. If you want to post in the rehoming section then feel free but I can already tell which way this thread is going to go and I don't like it.

Not a good situation :S Good Luck with what you decide. I'd be no help as I've only ever had boars so no pregnant sow experience...
