excuse me if this is in the wrong section my girls dotty an milly are 5 month old i groom them every day which they enjoy, i have noted they seem to be loosing more hair-like molting is this normal? mallethead x

Are they long haired? If not then grooming them each day may be too much for them. Do they have any bites? Losing fur can be a sign of mites. Could you show some photos? Also lack of vitamin c can be a sign of losing hair. What is their diet like?

hi

dont have any pics at min, long hair yes, ive checked an no mites, no bald patches etc.
they have science selective food an a range of veg every day that i have checked on here is ok e.g lettuce-not iceburg. peppers, sweetcorn, little carrots, broccoli etc x

My longer haired one's seem to leave a lot of hair on me after a cuddle. But they have no bald patches, I think it's just more noticable because the hair is long

Are they losing vast amounts of hair? Mine lose hair constantly when I stroke them but I am not sure how much you mean.

thanks

not vast amounts no, just notice on my top etc wen i have had hold of them x

That sounds normal then. Guinea pigs shed hair just like humans.

Hi Love just keep an eye on them, i have found with my long haired girl that she has times when she sheds/moults more hair ........ and it does happen with the different seasons :)
Little monkey's making you worry eh!
