Can you please post a picture of the problem? It is impossible to get an idea what exactly is going on by your description but it sounds definitely not normal. Do you know anything about your piggy's previous diet? What is his diet now? How much hay has/is he being fed?
We recommend to have any new piggies vet checked unless they come from a rescue with mandatory quarantine and vet care and are healthy upon adoption. Especially when you adopt from free-ads, you have to be aware that many owners eager to get rid of a no longer welcome pet are more than economic with the truth, especially with health issues they do not want to spend money on or with unplanned pregnancies; we sadly see this regularly on here.
