Hemmed Ears

Has anyone heard of this before and has your piggy got them ? :) Ive heard and seen piccies of them and just thought if you know about it and I'm sure my choc Choc has 1 ;D
 
What is it Michaela Eccles has a funny ear not sure though? :-\ ;D
 
Ill try and find some piccies but its nothing to worry about - its just an extra flap of skin on the inside O0
 
It is a fold along the edge of the ear.
A 'hem' describes it very well because it can often look as if it has just been folded over ready to sew up! It causes no problem whatsoever to the pig - it is just judged to be a fault when showing pigs.

Because it is something a pig is born with (and can pass it on to their offspring) breeders won't keep babies with this fault. That's why you will see quite a few pigs in pet shops with hem ears.

choloe thats why i thought id post about them here just incase no one knew about them ;) will upload piccies of a few soon as i have asked some people if i can use theirs from another forum O0
