Hi all,
Just a quick update on Herbal and the rest of the gang. Luckily no one else got sick and I thought Herbal was doing great, she finished her medicine yesterday and was eating well, but today she is refusing to eat anything :'( she has been showing some strange behaviour, following poppy around and snuffling her bum (i think shes eating poppy's poo) I have got some critical care so i'm going to try her with that, if she doesnt eat her tea it will be off to the vets again :'( I'm just wondering if maybe the medicine (Baytril) was addictive and now shes got withdrawal as it seems weird she stopped eating straight after it stopped. :-\
Love
Sarah

I'm not sure about rhw Baytril sorry but my guinea hasn't stopped eating after stopping it before.Try tempting her with her favourite foods and see if see eats them.

try her on some grass, if she is no better i would definately go to the vets. sending hugs to you and herbal :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: i too can't comment on the baytril as it isn't available here in south oz. hoping she picks up soon, has her teeth been checked? was she on a probiotic whilst on the baytril? good luck O0

Hi,
Herbal is munching on cucumber and hay, not the best diet but its a start, I think the critical care gave her appetite a boost ;)

Keep going with the critical care. I would also get a probiotic like Bio-Lapis to give her as Baytril can kill off the good bacteria as well as the bad.
