Today I went into Pets at Home and saw some Timothy hay with herbs mixed into it - made by Excel (right next to the P@H Timothy hay).

Have any of you tried it with your guineas? What did they think of it? Didnt buy it just in case - as my girlies are fussy little madams! ;D Thinking of trying it for a change....

(btw - lately theyve been keeping the buns and guineas separate... well they werent today! Hmmf ::) Also there was also some nutty old man in there when I was at the till... and asked me about tooftie problems with buns - as I dont know alot about them I just said its best to ask your vet about it - think he didnt really have a rabbit at all just wanted someone to talk to. I said 'I dont have rabbits Ive got guinea pigs' - and he said 'well they talk to each other dont they'?! 98) ;D Oh lordy! Why are these kinds of people always attracted towards me though?! I always get 'them! ::) ;D Left quick sharpish for the young man at the till to deal with him! ;) ;D )

Any hoo - any comments about the herbie hay would be great! O0

My two love it - it's a bit kind of dry and hard feeling but the pigs love it!

They certainly know the difference between it and the ordinary meadow hay, and popcorn and squeak when it's excel herbage time! :D

Ah yes... thats what it was called - Herbage! :D forgot the name of it.

Thought it looked quite orange 98)

LOL! It's the marigold petals in it - the pigs loooooooooooooove them!

LOL at Rabbit Man by the way ;D

Thanks Ang O0 so thats what the orange bits were! Couldnt work out what herbs were orange! Didnt read the back though did I?! Noooo... ::)

Just wasnt sure whether to risk buying it - then them turn their noses up at it! Think it was £3.99 for 1kg bag or something? Ok for a treat though. O0

Think the bun man saw my hay and thought I knew all about rabbits.... think he was just lonely though and just wanted to take an interest in something to make conversation... or maybe he really did have them, I dunno... but I always get picked on by folk! ;D

We must have that look about us, PiggyLoon - I seem to attract people who just want a random chat, too! ;D

Yeah, I don't buy it if I'm having to watch the pennies, I love the piggies but there's a limit! As long as they have veg, muesli and loads of meadow hay they're happy! :)

;D ;D ;D yeah... random is the word! It was a bit!
Seem to be in the right place at the wrong time! ::)

Mine love herbage! They didn't have it last time I was there so its plain old Timothy for now and they eat it but not as enthusiastically! You could mix with meadow thats what I do and it seems to go down well and is good for their tums and immune system so can't go wrong really!

I feed herbage occasionally... it's very coarse and dry. My girls eat all the marigold petals, the timothy heads and the long leaves but leave the stalks. They really quite like it, it's me whose not too sure. ::)

That's why I mix it because it is a bit on the dry side. When I first gave it the boys ate 5 large handfuls a day but then they got cheesed with it until I was concerned they weren't getting enough hay! I find Meadow just that bit softer for them and mixing it saves on the pennies. :)

I give this to mine now and again it does go down very well when given. Mine love the excell dried grass too :)
