I have recently applied for a lovely pair of sows from the cat and rabbit rescue near Chichester. They are going to ring me and do a home check. Cant wait!

In the meantime I have been given an elderly sow whose cage mate (sister) died over a year ago. They wanted her to have guinea pig company.

She is in the same room as Jingle, Mistletoe and Caramel and will going to have a vet check on Thursday.

So ... from three to six! Will post pics of her a bit later. She is a beauty. Long fur and pretty colours. So four little fluffers now. Rosie and Cherry (at the rescue) are smooth and tufty coated respectively. Hope I get them.

Good luck with the rescue piggy's. I hope you get them, there's no reason why you shouldn't, they will have such a lovely home with you. The elderly girl has certainly landed on her feet, would love to see photos of them all when they have settled in.

So, first of all thank you for your lovely comments. It really is ever so exciting. My new girl is here and is eating grass with much enthusiasm. She has been used to living outside with access to grass.

Here is her set up (at right angles to the trio)

It is just over 6 grids long and is 2 grids wide.

You can just see her little tan coloured nose!

THAT'S GREAT NEWS!!:yahoo:
only few days of silence and what am I reading? that you are going to multiply your piggies!:D:D:D
ahahahah!
And Tania looks so cute!
In a short time I foresee you with a lorry full of grass, I am in difficulty with three mouths, I imagine you with 6!
But these piggies are going to have a great life in their piggies room.
And now another trip to Ikea is needed:lol!:
(I have no doubt about the home check. The piggies will soon arrive:woot:)

I waded through VERY ddep mud today in order to get to the field with the lovely grass. Going to have to find somewhere else though as it was SUCH an effort!

Time to get my bicycle on the road and go grass hunting. Tani is not keen on hay ...

She is beautiful.
I've been lucky so far with grass this winter, when my garden ran out my neighbour allowed me to cut his but now there is only a day or two left so I'm on the lookout.

Lucky you piggieminder to have such a great neighbour!

Julie m, I know! What an amazing likeness.

Home check on Thursday and collecting them Friday (assuming all goes well). I have a space on the floor all set up for them. Hope to have a big herd one day.

Tani made her first noises today xxxxxxxxxx she copied the other's greeting sounds when I came in the roon. It was so cute.

I trimmed her matted fur round her rear end today. Her claws are uber long and kind of curly. Will take her to the vet for a check up and manicure asap. God I love her.

today I was picking a tender grass but I had to run home...:( I cut a finger!!:vom:
Ikea knives are useless at home, but cut the fingers very well!:( it is the second time!
And when I opened the door at home running to the bathroom with my finger bleeding the piggies started wheeking because they were waiting for the grass!:))
such a great life!

Oh dear @rome_italy , I hope your finger is not too sore. The things we do for these piggies.
Mine wheek every time I come in the back door, they think I only go in the garden for them! I'm really looking forward to the warm weather when they can go out and pick their own grass!

your piggies are so lucky to have a own garden for the good season! Next spring I would like to organise a picnic with my piggies, but I have to find a proper and safe silent place with a lot of grass. My finger looks a bit swollen today, but it is okay! the problem was yesterday when I saw the blood and I started jumping on the lawn like a mad, fearing that the wound was serious:yikes:... and of course someone was there at the window...:coat:
About yours: of course you ONLY go to the garden for them!! what else should you (and I) do outside?:))

Congratulations! Beautiful

I am so pleased for you, these piggies are going to have the most wonderful home with such a caring piggy mum! Cannot wait to read updates and of course see pigtures :)

I have been creating a nice enclosure on the floor for the new guinea pigs. It is ever so exciting!

Tani had a vet check and nail trim today. All fine. She was very happy to get back into her cage and seems properly at home now.

First thing this morning when I went into the guinea pig room all of them greeted me with whistles, including Tani (♡). I was delighted to hear her lovely voice.

Tonight at pellet o'clock she was outside her hidey and munching from her bowl. She didn't run away when I stood and chatted to her xxxxxx.

Having a new guinea pig makes me realise just how tame my three are.

Will need to open a bonding post soon and re-read all the guides.
