i have been told you can't have more than one male in a piggy herd but i can't find a solid argument either way? Can herds only have one male or can they have more?

Do you have boys together already? If you do, putting them in a herd might cause them to establish dominance through fighting and bickering, however thy might hang together. How old are they? (That might be a factor)

yeah Arthur and oblivion live together they are still under 2 years but not 100% sure of their age as they are adopted. I'm just forward thinking as always for if and when i can adopt more piggys (obvs ill neuter them first) if they cant its ok they still have each other for company

The only time I ever saw someone try to do this on this forum ended up with it working for 3 days or so and then a major fall out with bites all over the boars.

I would say start off with one, 2 could get nasty... maybe 2 small herds?
Good luck if you do go ahead with this!

I have seen one mixed group first hand at Bunny Burrows small animal rescue where I help out. They have a long term group of 4 boars & 13 to 16 sows. They seem to get along fine but they do have lots of space, probably something in the region of 10 metres by at least a metre.

cool i prob wont do it as i wont separate them into herds as they are bonded i was just curious
That's probably the best option :)
However, if you had the space, time and money, you could start a herd with new males

On boar can live with one or more sows. I would never risk it with two.
