Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum. I brought home 2 lovely little guinea pigs yesterday and have a few questions.

I only have one food bowl at the moment, should i have 2 since i have more than one guinea pig? How do i make sure both and eating the right amount of food etc. Any help would be appreciated - sorry if this is an obvious questions as i said I'm new at all this!

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum. I would have two bowls to prevent any fighting. A guinea pigs diet needs to be 80% hay. As long as you provide unlimited fresh hay you will be ensuring your piggies teeth will not become overgrown and their guts are moving. Twice a day feed them a handful of vegetables. This link will tell you which ones are suitable.http://www.squidoo.com/guinea-pig-care-4

The pellet foods guidelines will be on the packet.

Welcome to the forum, I just posted on your bedding thread. Congratulations on your piggies! What are their names?

You'll find lots of helpful advice on the forum, its a really friendly place so please just ask any questions we've all been there before starting out with piggies.

Here's a link to the food and diet list, we found it invaluable and still refer to it - http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?42-Vegetables-Shopping-List

If you would like to post photos of your piggies you will need a free photobucket account www.photobucket.com and follow the instructions on this thread http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/...ial-Posting-Pictures-In-Threads-(Photobucket)

Hope to hear more about your piggies
