sorry its been such a long time since i posted, a lot been happening lately with my health not pigaletta. I want to thank all the great help I recieved from everyone when piggy had such a bad skin problem, thanks to all the help and advice on medicine pigaletta, as you may remember the name, is all well and in exellent health thanks again. pigaletta has turned out to be a boy and not the girl i believed him to be, so unfortunately i am unable to get the friend i wanted for him, another boy would fight and a girl and would meen little ones to worry over, here in italy pets are not always treated well so i do not want to bring little ones on. Pigaletto who now is more often called sqeeky as he is so verbal is wonderfull and very talkative i am just sorry i cant get him a little friend. any ideahs vivien

Hi! I am glad that Pigaletto is well.

However, you can find him a baby boar friend. As Pigaletto is a full adult now, they won't go through the hormonal phase together and have a much better chance of making it through. Look for a little laidback and submissive character, if possible.

Lots of space is another key factor in keeping boars from fighting - the smaller and dramped conditions, the more likely are bloody fights. 2x4 ft, ideally more and even more, is the absolute minimum of ground space necessary.

Best of luck in making Pigaletto a happy boar!

For more information on how to introduce piggies and how to keep them amused, look in our reference section, for boar behaviour at the top of the behaviour section.

thanks

thanks for the advice I think I will have to look at a larger cage if i want to get another piggie but i will try as i hate to see him alone. He chats away to me if I talk to him, hes such a sweetie and quite loving, not nasty at all.
