Hi guys so I have noticed one of bubble's ear has dried skin and is missing some of her ear do you have an idea what this might be ?

She is booked into the vets tomorrow afternoon at 17.30.

After reading online I think it may be a fungal infection. if this is the case is it dangerous ?

She is in a cage alone at the moment due to her cage mate dying about 3 weeks ago. So it isn't a result of fighting. She could have scratched but I doubt that's what it is.

She is on fleece bedding I pick up her poo twice a day and do a total cage clean every 3 days I also disinfect it with white vinegar every time I do a full clean.

I have included some before pics in the link too so you can see what her ear used to look like.

Thanks for reading and thanks for any suggestions.

It looks like a healing scab from me, they might of had a little quarrel.
She also could of caught it on your wires of the cage.

Keep a eye on her to see if she bites or scratches it, please get back to me if something happens! bubbles looks gorgeous!

My Little boy ed had a fungal infection, it resulted in loss of some of his ear.
I brought him to the vet, so hopefully the vet finds out what it is
here is my boy with the infection:

To me it looks like it could be a fungal infection- it can give a jagged appearance to the ear. It's not likely to be dangerous to her at all, but does need a vet visit to assess and prescribe an antifungal cream.

Having a look at all of your pictures now it looks like the start of a infection, so best of luck at the vet!

Please have the ear vet checked. It is not possible for us to decide whether the ear has been nibbled or whether there is also a fungal ear infection.

The nibbling is often caused by overactive friendly dominance grooming.

Thanks she is gorgeous. She is alone in her cage so it's not a fighting scar I think is it fungus but she is going to the vets tomorrow afternoon so we will see what they say.

Let us know how they get on at vets!

Hi guys so she has been to the vets today and is being treated for a fungal infection she has been given some ointment that needs to be put on her ear once a day for a week and we will see how it goes.

I'm gutted she was supposed to be meeting her new cage mate tomorrow for the first time now we are going to have to wait another week. Oh well its whats for the best at least its nothing to serious at the moment as the inside of her ear is fine.
