Hi I'm desperate for advice. Rang vets and they are seeing bramble at 5 pm.

Well initially was on shavings and paper but removed that immediately when issue started. Then placed towels in. Then changed it to fleeces. Now put in on advice from a guinea rescue they came from paper puppy pads from local shop but I'm not sure they are best for him.

I’d put something on top of the puppy pads such as fleece or vetbed

Hi quick update on Bramble..we returned to the vets today for another check. Bayrtil hasn't made a difference and penis area has been in and out all week. He is to remain on metacam for the time being. Does not appear to be an infection. ? Very sore and vet was superb with him again. She took loads of photos to send specialist as that is what they asked for til they can see him. Then it's more than likely scans will be carried out. His glands in penis are a bit more swollen than they should be and he's lost 15 g in weight. He is still eating and drinking and weighs 1145 now. So we have critical care stuff on standby should he stop eating. Not much else to say. Still no answers for it always coming fully out. :-(

Poor thing.. you are doing all you can and I hope the specialist vet can help x

Aw, poor boy. I’m sure I’ve read that a small operation can secure the penis in place somewhere, but you would need to find an experienced vet that can perform the op x
Fingers crossed for Bramble x

There’s something in the boar care thread about a stitch to keep the penis from persistently staying out

Thanks Everyone. It's fully out at the moment but the specialist showed me how to try to retract it it stays but always clean it first. He's got four more days on metacam then returns. He was all puffed up today and looking sad til his metacam which he loves having! So I hope they will investigate further
