Hi! Just under a year ago, in order to raise the spirits of my mother who's in declining health, I took one of our caregivers offers of a couple of free Guinea pig babies. I didn't know at the time, they would be more therapeutic for me than my mother. Now, I'm just completely in love with them, and have gotten two more from the same parents.

I have a Male (neutered) and three females, their names are Louie, Darla, Daisy, and Mimi.

Now, whenever that caregiver and I are together, the talk naturally turns towards our piggies, and it brings us both so much joy. In fact, I talk about them so often, that my son suggested I join a forum "online community", because he was tired of hearing about them, Haha.

I wish I'd known about Guinea pigs sooner, if I had, I would've had them all along. I've put so much time and effort into keeping them happy, because they make ME happy throughout all these stressful times. (I'm fairly sure they've been to the vet more often than my dog at this point, haha)

I'm looking forward to meeting other people who love them as well, and can't wait to share some cute pictures and funny moments. :)

Welcome! It's so lovely to hear your story. We bought guinea pigs to help with my daughter's anxiety but I'm besotted with them too. I've had a couple of operations on my foot in the last 3 years and Silk (the white one) was great company, snoozing on my lap for an hour or more!

Hello and welcome to our friendly forum. You’ll find plenty of us on here who are potty about our piggies and will chat about them happily all day. It’s a safe space to talk wheeking, pooping, zoomies, sleeping habits and dietary requirements without seeing other people’s faces glaze over.

Hi and welcome

We are a friendly and helpful community with people from all over he world and I hope that you will enjoy your time on here!
The Chat sections are about talking about our piggies and showing off pictures. Some of our regulars keep their own blog thread in Guinea Pig Chat about their piggies. We all have the 'piggy bug' on here...

The Care sections are there for any questions you have, as important or insignificant as they seem. We haven't forgotten that we have all of us started out knowing nothing at all at some point. Some sections are specially monitored to ensure that every poster is getting experienced support as quickly as possible, especially in the more sensitive sections like Health and Illness.

We also have a very comprehensive and extensive information resource, which you can best access via the guides shortcut on the top bar. You will find some rather surprising and fascinating things in there together with the more practical aspects when you browse or try to find some information in a hurry during UK nighttime hours. The guides format allows us to update and add to our information at need.

Big welcome to the forum! Thanks for sharing your story with us :)

:wel:to this wonderful forum. We never get bored of piggy chat. Looking forward to hearing more about your piggies and it would be lovely to see some pictures.😀
