Hi Lucy,

Welcome to the forum. We aren't far away from you in Liverpool. :) We have 20 pigs here at the moment. We take in pigs to live out their retirement and the odd ones to rehome. Good fun, keeps me out of trouble.

Any pics of your pigs, love their names by the way. Look forward to chatting and getting to know you.

Louise
:)

dillis is the Slate and white one and Herbie is the black one

they are indeed ... herbie is 12 weeks and i think dillis is only 8 they don't live in the same cage but i tried get a group photo and they were so happy to meet each other lol! that was the best i got .. and he wasn't impressed with me putting her back in her own cage

he's such a lovely little thing so happy and cheeky he's an abyssinian .. but Dillis is more quiet and reserved shes a coronet got an appointment at lunch to have her checked out her belly seems to be a bit swollen so I'm concerned she is pregnant from when i brought her on Saturday :(

awwwwwwwww so still little babies xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
OMG i hope she's not pregnant, she's so little :{ do you know if she was housed with girls? or were they stupid enough to have her with boys mallethead

i assumed she was with girls i got her from a home breeder but when i was holding her last night i noticed it then i got herb out and had a feel of him to see if he was the same, iv'e never had guinea pigs before so i'm new to it all lol better to get it checked out I'm so worried about her :( poor little thing she was chewed aswell so she's only jusy healing from that!

What gorgeous pigs.

If she is pregnant then the vet may not be able to tell. From 4 weeks they start gaining weight, they eat more and drink lots. At 7 weeks you will notice babes beginning to move and by 10 weeks you will have babes.

If the boy isn't neutered I wouldn't put them together at all just incase accidents happen. I would get him neutered when he is a little older and around 2lb in weight so they can live together. However if you have babes then your girly may have a boar for him. :)

Keep us posted! They are beautiful! x)

i did hope to breed them later on in the year thats why I'm keeping them seperate as she's so young i just hope I'm worrying for nothing! i'd just hate for something to happen to her with her being so small! i'll keep everyone updated on what the vet says later fingers crossed she's just chubby lol
