Hi everyone I'm a little worried about seren she is nipping most of the time and I'm too frightened to hold I'm very nervous now when i pick her up and my son wont even hold her i dont know what to do ? xx

Oner of my babies nipped loads.. its starting to die down now. I was recommended to wear gloves, when handling, or put inside coat etc thats dark, and makes them feel secure. Warning though.. this resulted in lots of holes in my clothes.. good job i love them! :))
Hope seren settles soon x

Pick her up and swathe her in an old towel, so she feels secure. Nipping is a sign of anxiety and should hopefuly disappear when she settles down.

For cuddles you can distract her with a plate of food on your lap. Once she's absorbed in munching she might forget about her body and you can start touching and stroking her...

She'll be more relaxed if she's not alone on your lap, but has her friend with her. Talk to her gently all the time, encourage and praise her like you would a little doggie!

As well as the above, does her coat and skin look in a good condition? Guineas can nip if they are sore, for example suffering from mites or fungal infection making handling unbearable for them. If you feel there may be a problem, prompt treatment will easily sort them.
