I noticed one of our Guinea Pigs had a cough.
But no other symptons
Eyes clear
Nose clear
Appetite very good.
Then couple days tge cough was a bit deeper
Took both to The Vet to listen to lungs and check if they needed antibiotics plus get both piggies nails clipped. Vet said lungs and heart s of both sounded God and clear and didn't need antibiotics . But to go bk if still worried
Heard her cough again this morning.
Is it usual for an occasionak cough
Or is it possible anything else could be going on.

Their bedding is eco paper cat litter that the Pet shop also uses as it's recycled paper.
They did have green hay in a hay rack inside the cage which one of them would open and theyd get hay everywhere.
I've now switched to an outside hay rack and ye crate is a lot lot tidier..
Merill the girl with the cough dud have a habit of sitting under this as I was putting hay in so I'm wondering did she breathe in tiny particles ?

All of my pigs have coughed if they eat too fast, as mentioned above . I wouldnt worry unless its alot
Its not excessive .but on the odd occasion it was a high pitched tiny cough, but this sounded deeper. And I panicked as I tend to do and made an appointment literally within the hour to have them both checked..
The Vet seemed happy
Maybe me being a worrier

Welcome to the forum
You did the right thing in going to the vet and I’m glad that you had an all clear.
Guinea pigs are greedy little creatures and sometimes seem to inhale their food.
When they eat too fast they end up with little sneezes or coughs.
Just keep an eye on her and check the hay isn’t too dusty as well
