Sorry this might seem a bit trivial but I'm still new to piggy owning!

I was just sat next to the boys cage talking to them (a bit crazy I know) and Gus sounded like he had the hiccups, it was a strange noise that I hadn't heard before and all I can describe it as is like a human hiccup... He's still eating his carrots and popcorning around the cage but I didn't know if it could be a respiratory problem?

Sorry!

Thank you :D

:D No. don't worry, piggies can get hiccups! They don't usually make any noise but just give little jerks of the body. They will pass in a few minutes. They don't normally bother the animal himself.

Guinea pigs can get hiccups if they have swallowed too much air when eating greedily. It should pass by its own. There is no need to worry about a respiratory infection.
