Both of my girls are in heat, which has been no end of fun for me with all the rumbling! And usually when I put their veggies in their cage they come out of their hide holes within about 2 minutes, today they took much longer and I'm wondering if its because they're in heat? Also Pumpkin who I think is dominant is stealing veggies right from Bramble's mouth, is this heat related too? 😂

I have had them about 6 days and there are fireworks going off tonight, so are they just feeling really unsettled by that?

@molzify I've only ever had boars so I don't know how behaviour changes in females when they're in heat.

But 6 days is only a very short amount of time for them. They're still in their new home phase, learning their new surroundings. So, I would suspect the new environment along with the fireworks is probably the cause. They'll be okay but if you're worried about them eating at all you could move their veg closer to their houses so they don't have to come out as far to eat.
