Hi

I heard people give guinea pigs goats milk and avocado. Can adult pigs digest it properly?
we're worried our boy might die while we're struggling to treat him as he's pooping out everything he eats and everything we syringe into him, so he's loosing weight very fast.

Can anyone share any emergency high- calories diets to help us hold on until we get better? Can I mix pellets with milk/avocado?

never had a single pig that had a similar problem, Vedra's investigating, but we need to buy time as he's just bones and fur already :( despite our best efforts and we're exhausted 8...

Guinea Pigs are Vegans, they cannot digest Milk properly. You could however give your boys some Oats and sweetcorn are good for weight gain.

Guinea Pigs eat and poop, if he wasn't pooping you would be in serious trouble.

I always use Critical Care when syringe feeding or mashed up pellets. You should aim to get 120mls into him per day! X

thanks a lot, will try oats and corn. he's getting more than 120ml/day in addition to what he eats himself, but it's not absorbing, I feel like I'm slowly loosing him 8.... wish I could still be using CC as before, but Vedra suggested he might have vitamin C overload, so we swapped it with pellets. Today woke up to find out he's lost another 100grammes. where did that go, no idea...
