Sods law I literally took out insurance yesterday and today I made a discovery which of course will not be covered :(!

No-one is displaying any signs at all and believe me I know the sign's. I decided it must be Fred and placed him in a box with white bedding so I could see any blood. After an hour and a half I went to check Fred of course hadn't wee'd but I then discovered fresh blood in the cage again.

Now I'm on to Pebbles, so one of my pig's has a vet visit in the morning unfortunately I don't know who it is. :x

Oh no :( how awful for you Jo. Especially after everything.

I hope you find the culprit soon and good luck at the vets tomorrow.

Hopefully it is just a UTI that a course of antibiotics will clear up xx

Mystery Solved

It's Pebbles, anyone find that ironic other than me, at least I now know who the appointment is for.

firmly crossed.

In terms of insurance, if it's a straight forward UTI, anything unconnected eg bladder stones should still be covered but worth calling them to confirm this. I always end up speaking to Lucy, not sure if she's the only person who answers the phone! :))

Don't forget, there's a lot of other things that can go wrong with pigglies besides bladder stones...what seemed like a straight forward URI with Maggers ended up as a £1350 mystery condition they've never seen before (or at least has never been diagnosed as such!)

They said Pebbles was a 'grey' area as she'd been Xray'd but no sludge or stones where found this would be excluded which I don't understand why. However if it is a UTI, I can't claim anyway but would be nice if her full bladder wasn't excluded.

Yup I spoke to Lucy :))

Poor Pebbles and poor you, hope it turns out to be just a UTI. Let us know how vet goes x x

I'm sure it'll be fine, some antibiotic's should sort her out she's not even making a squeak when urinating, no weight loss. I wouldn't have even known if it wasn't for the teabag bedding - Scary thought!

Oh gosh, I just got on and the forum seems full of poorly piggles this morning! Fingers, toes and paws crossed down under that Pebbles has something that will clear up quickly with antibiotics.

Pebbles was a witch this morning, warning nips where given multible times to me and the vet. Pebbles was Xrayed first thing, no stones where found but she does have a lot of crystal's in her urine, as well as her bladder. The vet also found some white blood cell's so Pebbles is on Septrin, Loxicom and cystaid. She's to have her urine checked again in 2 weeks.

As always I've to syringe fluid's, perhaps she's my replacement P.

Bad Pebbles! :))

Maybe she just doesn't want you getting bored? :))

Hopefully the treatment will start to work quickly....Lol @ her giving the vet a hard time. I remember having Montgomery at the vets and he kept nipping him. Get well soon lovely girl..

Good luck Jo - I think I will get my other foster boy insured on Monday!
