Hobbling Guinea

Hi there

One of our boys seems to be hobbling a little this evening, it's hard to tell because he's got a lot of hair but I think he might be trying to keep weight off his front left foot. At first I thought I was imagining it as when I went to pick him up he ran away fast as ever, but there's definitely something.

I picked him up and he rested his head down on me, which is also a bit unusual.

I guess I'll take him to the vets first thing tomorrow, has anybody seen anything like this before? I'm especially nervous as a previous piggy died from an ear infection which I first noticed as him leaning and losing balance!

Hi! It is most likely just a small sprain somewhere along a leg joint from the foot to the spine. They are not at all uncommon in lively guinea pigs that have an awkward landing when popcorning or jumping.

Thanks for the reassurance! He does love popcorning. I assume it is vet worthy?
