Holding/Picking Up

Hi- newbie alert- I recently got a New Guinea pig almost two weeks ago. I was just wondering if there was a specific way to pick up the piggies. I’ve noticed my guinea pig liked to nibble on my fingers not really to the point of biting. Didn’t know if that was related to not being liked to be picked up or not.

Hi and welcome! I also start most of my posts with “newbie alert”

We pick our girls up while they’re in their tunnels and/or with fleece blankets and also have a carrot handy (which they don’t get at other times) and seems to be making progress.
