Hello all, new here but have browsed somewhat often. I have 3 guinea pigs, 2 males and 1 female, my female pig Butters had a small cyst on the scruff of her neck, we had it popped once it had broken through the skin, and it left a hole big enough to put a pencil in (weird reference but cant think of anything else). Just wanting to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. It has been about 6 months now and the wound hasnt closed up at all. It hasnt gotten worse, and she has never shown any signs of pain but, I'm wondering if she can survive long with an open wound. Its dry and theres no blood/wounding whatsoever but, its a decent sized hole. I can post pictures in a few, thanks in advanced

Hi there. Has Butters seen a vet? Anything like this does need to see a vet.
Also, do the 3 live together? Or does she live alone?

Our guinea had a cyst surgically removed at the start of December and this was stitched closed but he kept removing them and they even glued it and this was also nibbled back open so we had a huge open wound but just after a month is was all but closed up surprisingly. I would also say get a vet check to it out. We kept in constant contact with our vets to make sure his wound kept healing as it should as it was just open to the elements 🤢
