I came back from holiday today and gave Rufus his pressie...

I visited a Pet Cemetry in a small town called Cullen in Aberdeenshire and it was absolutely beautiful. People had not only buried their beloved pets there, but also put in both professional headstones, but also made their own. I got quite choked up when I was there and it put an idea in my head. Poor Ron was cremated and I didn't have anything for him as a headstone or the like so I made this...

When my Mam saw it, she said she had always wanted something like that for the dogs we have lost over the years. So I made more...

Mam has varnished them and placed them in the garden. It looks lovely apparently so I will post a photo when I'm up visiting again :)
 
Rufus is absolutely gorgeous x) The stones are a lovely idea on how to remember your furry family.
 
Aw, those stones have made my hair stand on end - how lovely and what a great idea.
I think you may have started something now for people who have lost their beloved pets, a wonderful and personal little memoir.

We used to go to Cullen every year on hols as a kid and our dog loved it. When he died his ashes were sprinkled on the *each there. (sorry my * key doesn't work...)

I love that cemetry. It's managed *y the local and it's lovely. The atmosphere there is just lovely.

We took our puppy there and she loved it. It was her first time on the beach and was going mad for digging and chasing the waves. She's a jack russell so it looked really funny.

I'm hoping we'll go back there for another holiday, we stayed at Findochty caravan park and it was lovely too.
 
I would have loved to have been able to engrave them myself but I had to settle for a steady hand and some permanent markers :)
