Healing vibes please. My little walking disaster piggy Holly has today sashayed across the cage towards me with a hay dart poking out from under her top eyelid. We’ve had an emergency trip to the vets, got antibiotics, repair gel, pain relief and also I’ve got artificial tears here at home. It’s nasty. We are back at the vets for frequent review with this one.
Meanwhile, she showed her great displeasure with me by turning her back on me when I went to photograph her.

OUCH!

All the best with a quick and straight forward healing process. At least you noticed early on and could have it seen promptly.

Healing wheeks Holly! Clover says if you hurt yourself accidentally and are brave at the vet you should qualify for compensatory carrot slices and parsley. Administered with every dose of medicine of course x

Holly’s currency of choice is green beans. And she’s had a few for being so brave and tolerating me dropping stuff into her eyes. And a new carrot cottage is helping to distract her, too.

Poor Holly. Dennis is cringing as he well remembers the pain of a seed head in his eye a few weeks ago. His message to Holly is "Let Slave put that funny stuff in your eye and demand Coriander for being a brave girl after each drop. Your eye will soon feel better and you'll be able to see properly again."

Micah says demand a slice of carrot and play ‘catch-up me if you can’ with your slave.
He also thinks that keeping the injured eye tight closed is a good way to frustrate any slave trying to put eye drops in.

Hope Holly’s eye recovers quickly

believe me - she certainly isn’t any easier to catch as a result of having just one good eye...... she’s certainly playing catch me if you can!

Get well soon Holly. Georgie and Mavis send healing wheeks as they have both had hay poke
injuries recently too. 💕

Hope she gets well soon. It's nasty injury and the treatment is pain to administer...

How's Holly now? Orca had her obligatory at least monthly hay poke tonight, Tiacil drops now administered & looks like it's a phone call to the vets tomorrow - I'm so glad he gave me a repeat prescription for the drops as she's always giving herself pokes :(
Orca sends her love to Holly & says keep demanding the green beans! ;) x

Poor Orca.
Hope her eye heals quickly.
Sounds as if she needs goggles!

Holly and Orca are well matched, I fear, in the injury stakes!

we returned today to the vet for a check up and he removed a fresh piece of hay from her other eye. You couldn’t make it up! Anyhow, the good news is that the eye injury is healing satisfactorily. And I should be able to go and see my mum this weekend.

Poor little clumsy Holly! Hope she carries on recovering well and keeps those eyes firmly closed when sticking her head in the hay! x

So pleased to hear Holly's eye is healing. I hope you make it to see your Mum at the weekend. It's so frustrating when you want to be there for your furry family and your human family too.

So glad Holly is recovering and hope you have a lovely weekend with your Mum x
