Holly has a tiny lump no bigger than a ball bearing at the base of her right hand nipple. She had her other nipple and a large lump removed earlier this year.

This is what Helen removed (warning: graphic photo)

I'm guessing her new lump is too small to have removed at this point but is it normal for a sow to lose both nipples? Autumn had one removed about three years ago and she has a small lump on the same side now but no problems with her remaining nipple. Holly does have a little bit of crustiness around her nipple and she is rather dominant but she has no other symptoms.

I would have it checked by your vet; if it is mammary related, it can appear on either nipples.

l have had a cople of pigs with nipple problems, and with a mass that size my vet usualy dos a mamary strip just to be on the safe side

Holly saw the vet yesterday and out of the three girls with lumps that went, she was the only one who didn't have surgery. The lump had completely disappeared despite there being a ball bearing sized hard lump with a softer, larger lump behind it only 4 days earlier. Helen thinks it may be her lymph node and linked to her hormones so we need to monitor her.

Rose had her nipple removed and Autumn had a couple of lumps removed from around the area where she had her nipple removed a couple of years ago. Ambam has a small area of loss of pigmentation in her iris which we will monitor.
