Had a strange and extra warm wknd, oven drying grass and dandelions (and chopping and baking apple branches but pigs not interested as usual! ) for my chinchilla and pair of piggies!
And Pedro the chin lost his sister recently after 8 years together so like to keep him well fed and occupied!

I'm prob being a bit stupid but wondering if this dried grass could be similar to readigrass and I should limit it with piggies due to calcium or something?
Am being a bit paranoid as my boy Rupert is a bladder pig and had two stones already so like to check! He's only had a couple of the dandelions. They've been having fresh grass too.

Thanks for any replies in advance.

I've wondered the same thing too. I occasionally make my own dried grass as well, though I only dry it in the sun. I thought perhaps it should be limited due to the natural sugars in it rather than calcium, but either way it's puzzling as hay is simply dried grass, so isn't the nutrional composition/value just the same?

Yes I'd think it would be! Do overthink the calcium thing sometimes and suddenly popped into my head this morning when I mixed a bit in their hay!
