I've tried searching the forum but can't find much on this. Is it possible to make homemade hay blocks/cookies to keep my teenage boars busy? The only recipes I've found online are aimed at rabbits and all full of banana, honey or flour

I've not come across any ways to make them and the only thing I can think of is to use a vacuum food sealer to compress it or maybe using ground pellets and water as a binder for chopped hay but I'm not sure how you'd dry it successfully without depleting the nutritional value of them. I also don't think it would be any cheaper than buying them.

You could provide hay in different ways such as toilet rolls, paper bags or cardboard boxes. You can also buy hay cookies or foods like fibafirst which is sort of like a long stick shaped hay cookie but is a 'complete' food.

Burgess Excel do a complete feeding cube - its blackcurrant and oregano flavour! I feed alongside a variety of other forms of hay/foraging food for choice. I found a complete food called Natures Choice (orange bag, Pets at Home), made up of mostly herby/dried veg type food which I give a little of just for internet!
