My 2 guinea pigs have started to hoot every other day and then seems to cough or sneeze and it stops. Do you think it's just dust from hay/nuggets? Must admit I've changed hay to a more expensive one and before I changed it only happened once and now it seems to be ever other day. And it's both piggies (they are sisters) I've read some where about heart problems :(

If it's both pigs, and it's become more frequent for both of them at the same time, I'd be more inclined to blame the hay. One of mine is an occasional hooter, very loudly too, but it only happens when I've put new hay down for them.

Keep an eye on it, but if hooting is the only symptom I wouldn't worry too much yet.

Hooting (which usually means a slight obstruction in the nose), especially when accompanied by sneezing points to issues with dust or pollen rather than anything else.

I would strongly recommend to stop feeding the new hay and see whether the problem disappears again within a few days.

I feel your pain here, Hadley was hooting on Sunday and then doing it again today. Both times it started shortly after we gave her hay and it's a bag we just open where the hay seems thinner/softer than usual (like it's more leaf than stalk, if that makes sense.) I suspect it's the hay and will buy a new bag, but am also watching her closely and will take her in to be checked if it continues or if she shows any other signs of illness.
