Ali seems to be the "go to guy" at his work with anything to do with Piggies. He was approached by a colleague regarding two boars who were starting to bicker and having a occasional lunge at each other although no blood has been drawn. Ali's colleague contacted the pet shop they got them from, to which they where told separate them and re-introduce together in a day or so. Of course the bickering has increased.

When we heard this, our alarm bells stared to ring. So we asked some frank questions. Like cage size, age, what do you want do do for these piggies and more important are you willing to do what's required for these piggies and if not will you surrender them to a reputable rescue for re homing. Having got a satisfactory answer we have decided to help. So these boys are with us to assess their compatibility together.

The ideal solution is the two boys will be able to form a stable bond together and go back to their family. Another solution will be found for these boys if they fail to get on with each other.

They are currently in 2 separate cages, but can see, hear each other and also hear our piggies, will are observing them for signs of aggravation between each other. If this looks ok we will try a full reintroduction including bonding baths on Saturday when we can watch them continuously.

Lisa & Ali.. x

If it hasn't escalated to full on fight it might be possible to reintroduce them. Did you find out if anything was triggering it in their home?

Cage size, far too small for one never mind two.. Hormones kicking in.. usual boar stuff.

Hopefully with enough space and the usual two of everything they will calm down. I have successfully reintroduced two males who I split for squabbling, bath and all was as good as new and a year on still best of friends :)

Thats what we are hoping for.. fingers crossed.. :agr:

They look lovely, wish I had the space to take them if it was needed but I don't haha. Good luck x

my friend had two boars in a 70 cm cage and wondered why they were bickering.I gave her a 100 cm cage and now they are fine.i know they should be in bigger but she isn't prepared to pay
for a bigger one and i cant afford to buy her one.May give her my tall 100 cage and put a shelf on.Some people just don't get it
