I have decided to go and visit my local RSPCA to talk about adopting 2 guinea pigs :)

I know they said must be a 6ft cage but i am going to talk to them about getting a 2 level cage that will equal to over 6 ft of running space. I really hope it goes well. I have spotted 3 i really like (i know i want 2) but they are all long haired and 1 very fluffy. I have never had a long haird guinea pig before and know i will have to brush them daily and give them a bath. Soot (one of my current guinea pigs) is sort of long haired and i brush her all the time. I havent given her a bath yet as she has always been very nervous when handled so i am hoping when it gets warmer i can give it a go :)

I am very excited. I have been very unwell over the last year and they have helped me so much :) After i get 2 guinea pigs i will have to stop as we already have 6 hamsters and a cat hehe :) Hubby is making a speacial grass area and fencing it off for the piggies to run around in :)

Good luck, I hope it all works out well. There own website guidance asks for a smaller size than what you are offering, so hopefully you should be ok.x

Thank you :) I rung up last friday and they told me i had to have a 6ft cage :( I am hoping she got mixed up and thinking of a rabbit hutch size. I checked the websites and it shows 4 ft so hopefully will be ok :)

These are the ones i think look really cute :)

I know they have 50 there at the moment waiting to be rehomed so i am hoping i can find a nice pair :) When i was there last month to adopt my hamster i saw Chilli in a cage by him/her self so may not be bonded with another guinea pig yet. They rescued over 350 from one home and they had to be split all over the UK as Blackberry farm did not have enough room to look after them. The owner also have rabbits and chinchillas there that had to be rehomed :( Mad me feel very sad knowing that someone was miss treating over 350 guinea pigs :(
