Dic a Dom

I am really worried today as my little Rosie hasn't eaten this morning.
She had eaten yesterday but for some reason today she isn't interested in the food bowl.
I have given her some readigrass and will fetch some timothy hay for her.
Should I start syringe feeding now if she hasn't touched her food?
I am paincing now that we'll lose her like Mimi and Domi. I really DO NOT want to go to our vets because they are hopeless. Can anyone please suggest a good vet in North Wales, Chester, Liverpool, Manchester. I really do not mind travelling to make her better.

Sorry to hear about Rosie. Yes I would syringe feed if she hasn't ate. My vet is Windsors Halewood Road Gateacre L25 appointments are quick knowledge is good but think Jnenbnb is probably better.PM Emma and ask I think her vet is in Fazakerely near Aintree.

Good luck! x

My vets are called adams vets, theyre in fazakerley in the hospital grounds 01515250847 theyre open surgery between 9-11 and 2-4 which means you can just call in but they do appointment after 4 aswell if you want to make one, when ralfie wasnt eating they gave him an injection to kick start his gut and gave me science recovery to syringe, they're good vets x

Thanks so much for the phone number.
Who's the best vet to speak to there? I will phone them now to hopefully book an appointment for tonight
X

well the vets are usually busy but theyre all good with pigs, just speak to the receptionist theyre quite nice :) x

Oh good good good news little Rosie has eaten some food from the bowl this afternoon, as well as some readigrass and a large chunk of cucumber.

I am going to keep a keen eye on her for the next few days and hopefully it's just a one off.

Fingers crossed and many, many thanks for your help.

hoping rosie continues to eat, at least you have the number for a good piggy vet now. O0 sending hugs and healing vibes to rosie :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: good luck and please keep us posted. the girls send :-* :-* :-*

I put her and Dici together last night and she was a different piggy. She was eating all of his readigrass and his dry food and kept drinking out of his water bottle. She's eaten quite a bit this morning as well. I'm starting to think now that she's depressed about being lonely and the only girl. I've enquired about some sows that need rehoming in Chester so hopefully can get her a new female companion. I would love to keep her with Dici but as he is not neutred I don't really want to take the chance so I've put their cages back to back so that they can have a chinwag through the bars.

I can't explain how thankful I am that she's back eating. I just really hope that she continues to do so.

Glad she's eating, I think they can sometimes get depressed and having another pig encourages them to eat and drink.... fingers crossed she continues! Another sow might be a good idea, good luck with your search
