Horrible find in Pets at Home Hay

I think you've had a good deal.
TBH, i you think about it, it's a good thing that small mammals live in PAH hay, it shows that it's grown outdoors and doesn't receive enough chemicals to drive ALL living creatures away. As or your being a bat, well, unless they grow their hay in a dark cave, I can't see it!

I agree it was a good deal :)

I was going to message you - they took the hay & creature round the back of the adoption section so you never know :)):))

Talking of gruesome find, well, we found a dead pigeon on our drive today.

The trouble is, it was kind of inside out. It was Horrid, turns my stomach just thinking about it. We think it was dead before Maxy literally parked on it and squeezed it... inside out. Bizarrely, it had no head.

Now, my car had bird poo on it, so I'm thinking 'poetic justice'? but that's going a bit far. We had to remove it and bin it, absolutely disguting...:)>>>:)>>>:)>>> I feel sick again just thinking about it.

Hi suzanne. Glad the outcome so far is positive. Was it pets at home robin park? Audrey all the birds I see dead here in the countryside all have their heads off. We suppose its foxes but have wondered why this is. X

where I live there is lots of pigeons that have passed it:)>>> I have loads of trees around and last week had to detour the kids walking to school as one of path:(|)

Glad OP has got thing moving well done:))

Just thought I'd update on this.
I went to pets at home earlier with the hay & creature - they were horrified to be honest & said it looked like bat's legs :)>>>
Anyway, I got a refund for the hay & other items on my receipt, a new bag of hay (not pets at home I might add) and some nice cardboard carriers - which will come in handy for transporting Kira's piggies on friday :)) I filled in a complaint form & have to wait for a reply from head office - all in all I was quite happy with the way they handled it although I will not be buying hay from there again!

Ha ha ha, I bet you wouldn't know a bat's leg from a mouse leg, to a bird leg! :(|):(|):(|)

GLad it all got sorted for you! hope your piggies enjoy their toys

This is gross I am scared to put my hand in the hay bag already from the last thing about a dead rat and now you're making it worse :)) I would be demanding a new hutch / cage, years supply of food and a sack full of herbal treats for my babies as compensation :))

Well if you say you have a phobia of things like that and make it out to be really bad. Ie you had to go straight to bed for a lie down and was too upset to get up for days it could work :))

I was thinking more that it decapitated itself (unwillingly or otherwise, who knows?) on the electrical wires by the house. Some unsuspecting neighbour obviously has a head but no body...

RIP pidgy!

I guess we're lucky really at how little this happens as there must be a canny few creatures that live in hay before it's chopped down and all that....

I found a dead frog in my hay once - squished totally flat it was!

As Kira said, I guess there are bound to be the odd creature that gets caught up in the harvester. I just put in down to experience - and into the bin! Wish I'd thought of taking it back to shop - I'd have liked a few freebies!

Hope your piggies enjoy their goodies!
