Horrible smell- Help!

My guinea pigs are kept in our laundry room and when I went down to check on them I walked in it smelled of heavy cleaner, almost like the "dentists office" smell. I haven't sprayed ANYTHING in there. Our furnace and pipes as well as washer and dryer are in the room but I can't find the source of the smell. I scooped my guinea pigs up in to a laundry basket and brought them upstairs. Any advice on what to do now?
 
Have you checked whether any bottles kept in the room have fallen over or are leaking?
