I went to cuddle one of my guineas today and when I touched her she was very hot. She's an indoor guinea pig.

How does everyone keep their guineas cool in the hot summer days? (Whether they are indoor or outdoor guineas)

Frozen fizzy pop bottles! I always keep old water or fizzy drink bottles, fill them with tap water and pop them in the freezer then on hot days we wrap them in a towel, or something similar, and the pigs love lying up next to them.

Another trick is to wet a towel and drape it over the run/cage so that any breeze is cooled as it blows on the towel. Our weather is tricky because one day it's cold and wet and then today temperatures soared so no one knows whether they are coming or going!

That's a good idea, I'll try that.
The weather is a pain lol I feel sorry for animals.

I have tried the frozen bottles and the scheme has been largely approved by all my piggies, late and current.
Thanks for the idea and we all truly recommend it! I put my bottle in a hot water bottle holder. We call it the air conditionning and I must admit inside the pigloo the temp is a good few degrees cooler than out.
