I know people use snugglesafes but i was curious as to why you can't use a hot water bottle, apart from chewing and keeping it properly wrapped so they can't get burnt.

As you have already said. My girls love to chew as do many guinea pigs and I would not trust them as if they were to chew the bottle, it is very likely that they would get very seriously burned! x

if * want somthing to keep them warm, go to your locale garden center and buy a propogater, it a plastic tub with a lid witch will plug in and is used to keep baby seedling warm in the winter but will be purfect in the Guinea pig and there no top water its all properly insolated and electrical and moyster proop (made to be left outside/in the green house).

hope this helps,
Josh.

I agree with Claire. I would be too afraid that they bite through it and get serious burns. Even if you wrap it up, it wouldn't be safe. Guinea pigs manage to get to anything they set their heart on.
