- In my Guinea Pig's shed mainly! LOL
I think this falls under this topic, as it is to do with Guinea Pig health. :p
So, today it's quite a hot day, with a slight breeze. I went into the pig's shed at like 10:30am, and it was humid! The air was quite..still, if you understand me. And I was working up a sweat quite fast. I'd already been in to them at around 8ish, and the temperature was normal.
So, I decided to get the pigs out in the run, and move the run behind the garage so it's in deep shade. They were outside for around 1 hour - 2 hours, and now I've brought them back it.
The air is still quite hot, but I've managed to find a big fan which has been going since I put them out. It's sorta cooling the air, I guess... but don't worry, it's not pointed directly at them, it's up to the roof on a slant, so they get a very slight breeze from it, and I've also got the door open.
All three pigs are completely lounged flat out, bless them. I just feel so sorry for them!
Has anyone got any good ideas I can do/use to keep them cool during the day, that don't require my supervision? Because when I go back to school, I can't exactly leave the door open and have a fan on, for multiple reasons.:{
And I certainly don't want them to get heatstroke!
Thanks guys, you're really helping me and my pigs out a lot here!
