Hi i got a guinea pig afew days ago and am supposed to be getting a second from the same person tomorrow but i’m extremely overwhelmed by just the one at the moment and not sure if i should get the second and half both or return the first one and go back to having no guinea pigs

If you want to keep piggies, then you must get two. Piggies are highly social and should never be kept alone as they get lonely, so you need to either have two or none.

Is your piggy male or female? Two boys together need a much bigger space than two girls.

The sounds she makes really stresses me out even though there supposedly happy but i do have a quiet severe anxiety and i think having a pet is a lil too much for me
 
Piggies can be quite vocal anyway, particularly as your piggy is a new environment and is alone. She is going to be very scared to be by herself. If you are going to keep her, you must get the second piggy.

You need to do what is right by both you and the piggy though. For some people having pets helps anxiety, but for others it’s just adds another layer of stress (their requirements are specific and they aren’t always easy pets to look after) so it might not be the right time for you to have pets.

We can help you with their care requirements but obviously the decision needs to be yours

Thank you so much for your help but i think i am going to return her instead of getting a second for her health and mine

It’s good you have made a decision, you’ve definitely got to do what is right for you both so you can both be happy.
