How are all the poorly forum piggies today?

Hello. Thanks for asking.
I'm very sad as Chloe is still losing weight.
The pills have not reversed her weight. She's down to 700 and it's killing me. I'm trying to be postive and she's doing everything normal but I feed her twice a day and she's until tonight seems to be eating. Hay and food.

Sorry to hear she's still losing weight Dave, she's such a beautiful girl and you and the vet are trying your hardest for her! But glad she's still eating and happy in herself. Fingers and paws crossed the vet has some other treatment ideas x

I'm syringe feeding two piggies,Casper 1,is eating 120mls of syringe feed,he stopped eating 2 weeks ago!going to the vets with Reuben on thursday.Reuben has an tooth abscess, still not eating pellets, but well in himself !i hope everyones piggies makes a speedy recovery.
Gosh 2 piggies to syringe feed sounds like a challenge! Best of luck at the vet with Reuben's abscess, hope they start eating for themselves soon x

Christian is still on his high dose of Metacam (0.7ml twice a day) his weight has stabilised at that for around 10 days now. If I wasn't away on holiday I would put his dose down to 0.65ml twice a day and see how he copes with that. My friend (piggysitter) has just phoned to say she just gage him his evening dose and he was amazing! All you have to do is call him and he comes to the hutch bars and takes his medicine. I did tell her that was what she had to do but she didn't believe me.

Mavis is currently eating well and holding her weight. She is on long term Metacam and Cystease. Hopefully she will be with us a while longer but her long term outlook isn't good.
Poor Mavis, but if she's still eating well hopefully she will be with you for a good while yet x

Good boy Christian behaving for the piggysitter, hope you can reduce his dose when you get home but its good he isnt in pain anymore and is mobile again! X

It’s good to be able to know how everybody’s (poorly) piggies, especially as threads can be missed
Healing vibes to anybody with a poorly pig x
Yes that's what I thought, the original threads get bumped down so you can't always find them for an update! There's probably some tech savvy way of keeping them on the feed but being over the age of 40 its a bit beyond me :)

Thanks for asking @PigglePuggle .

Micah ended up back at the hospital today as I was worried about him and I have to be in London all day tomorrow.
Turned out that where once he had a plum now he had an abscess forming.
He was operated on and all is well.
It was still in the early stages and when I spoke to the vet this afternoon he was awake and eating for himself.
He’s staying until tomorrow evening when I get back and can pick him up. He’s on injectable antibiotics every 2 days so frequent vet trips but that I can do in Marlborough.
Hopefully he’ll be right as rain next week for his Great Northern Adventure .

Good to see all the updates in one place.

Thank you for asking @PigglePuggle . The good news is that Peanut's operation wound has healed beautifully, his hay poke has healed and his weight is going in the right direction now. The bad news is that he's still not eating for himself and he doesn't come out of his bed. We are all a bit stumped as to what is wrong, his eyes are bright and his coat is shinny and soft. He's not fluffed or hunched up in pain. I am hoping it's the baytril making him feel poorly and after the last dose tomorrow evening he will perk up quickly. He's having 3 hourly syringe feeds and water (was 2) and we now have lots of poop and wee. Tomorrow I am going to try spacing the feeds out a bit further.

In other news Spike is now being nebulised as he is doing on and off noisy breathing. The vet says his lungs and airways sound fine, but he wasn't doing it while at the vets. Vet said as I have the nebuliser to give it a go as it won't do him any harm. I've not heard him this evening.

Sending healing vibes to all poorly piggies and hugs to their slaves.

Poor little Micah! Hope the op got the whole abscess out and the antibiotics stop it coming back. Is he getting zithromax antibiotic? I have heard that's good for abscesses, Ollie's medical notes say he had that when he also had an abscess following his plum removal.
Ollie sends Micah lots of plum abscess sympathy and says he looks forward to rumbling at him through the cage bars next week! X

Good news that Peanut's eye and operation wound have healed, but a worry he's still not eating. Hopefully its just the baytril, when Jezzy floof had baytril she lost about 80g in a week and we had to syringe feed her but as soon as the baytril stopped she regained all the weight with a couple of days of sweet potato and porridge oats!
Hope Peanut starts eating and keeps pooping, and that Spike doesnt have the start of a respiratory infection, don't these piggies keep us all worried and always at the vets! X

My Cookie finally has got rid of her recurring abscess in the neck! She started getting it in March and the last operation she had by Simon was on 1st week of June. Thankfully it hasn't come back. The only problem is her weight is just around 850-890g. She can't really gain more weight at the moment. She would eat nonstop for a couple of days but then would suddenly stop eating the following day. We asked Simon about it and he prescribed her to take Zantac for 2 weeks to see if she's getting some tummy problems every now and again. Her teeth seem fine too apart from breaking one of her incisors a few days ago but it has almost grown back to normal when we went to the vets on Monday. We just need to get her back to eating more and continuously so she gains more weight.

Here is Cookie (left) with Sierra and Rocky.
