How are all the poorly forum piggies today?

My Cookie finally has got rid of her recurring abscess in the neck! She started getting it in March and the last operation she had by Simon was on 1st week of June. Thankfully it hasn't come back. The only problem is her weight is just around 850-890g. She can't really gain more weight at the moment. She would eat nonstop for a couple of days but then would suddenly stop eating the following day. We asked Simon about it and he prescribed her to take Zantac for 2 weeks to see if she's getting some tummy problems every now and again. Her teeth seem fine too apart from breaking one of her incisors a few days ago but it has almost grown back to normal when we went to the vets on Monday. We just need to get her back to eating more and continuously so she gains more weight.

Here is Cookie (left) with Sierra and Rocky.

Hope Cookie starts eating better and gaining weight soon! X

Micah is home.
The op was a success and the difference in him is wonderful to behold.
Syringe feed and Emeprid when we got home?
Meds OK - syringe, no chance!

He’s back in his cage with a towel and a smart new little fleece to sit on so that we don’t get hay or wood shavings in his wound, so he just climbed into the bowl of hay :bye:

He’s eating and rattling the bars to let the girls know he’s home.
I have my bright little boy back :yahoo:

Thank you everyone for so much wonderful support. It’s meant a lot over the past week.

Hoping all the other poorly piggies are also getting better

Massive healing vibes from me and my babies being sent to all the poorly piggles :) and huge hugs to all you amazing owners xx

Haha thanks @PigglePuggle, he’s doing amazingly thanks! :D A bit too good, causing havoc as feeling so much better! No syringe feeds and a few good hard bites for me at lump cleaning time! But so happy at the moment, just like the old naughty Pedro 😍

Good to hear he's doing well @alpacasqueak :)

I've just given the piggies their grass for today and this happened!
IMG_1038.webp

He walked the length of the carrier and grabbed some grass. It's the first time he's shown any interest in food for a week, he's only eaten the odd bit if I hand it too him since his operation. He's using his legs properly and holding his head up. Stopped Baytril last night as it was day 7, says it all really, I hate giving them that stuff. The vet phoned and said she had the results of the tests on the abcess, it was a bacteria Baytrill kills so hopefully that's the end of it. That's one big weight off my mind. :yahoo:

Come on all you poorly piggies, get well soon, and that includes you hooty Spike!

Great news. So pleased for you

That's good news @Merab's Slave. Did they drain the abscess or manage to get out the whole capsule so there's no abscess cleaning for you? or @PigglePuggle when she is looking after your piggies.
So far as I understand they simply cleaned it all out.
The wound is healing very nicely and he will need his antibiotic injections every 2 days until they're sure the infection has cleared.
It would be fair to say that Micah does not appreciate having his temperature taken, nor does he like the injections.
He expressed his displeasure, loudly.

I just wondered how all the poorly piggies are doing today, @Merab's Slave @piggieminder @David Piggie Lover and anyone else who would like to share how their poorly piggy is doing today?

However, he is lying his head on the bedding a lot more and his companion seems to be a lot calmer around him. He’s also started sneezing occasionally.
