It's awfully humid and sticky here, I hate this kind of weather. My pigs have just been lazy-ing about in their runs, keeping out of the sun. They haven't been eating as quickly today, I think its too much effort! :))

They do, however, insist on sitting together. The boys cuddle up what ever the weather, daft things rolleyes. Four of the girls were lined up along the shaded side of the run, and Glinda was lying on her own - not entirely sure whether it was by [wise] choice of whether she was excluded...

How have everyone else's pigs been?

my girlies just sleep LOL and eat and lay sprawled out LOL I have blinds to keep sun off them and keeps room cool

I also have a few smooth stones down and Abby sometimes lays on them or next to them to cool down its so cute i have yet to catch her on camera

I have windows open and net to stop flies getting in the windows

cucumber lettuce watermelon are nice cool treats to give too :(|)

THIRSTY...!
:))
The herd have had to have 3 new water bottles because the existing 3 wasn't enough and was causing fights...!... Silly creatures...!

Nasty isn't it - we are hot and bothered so must be uncomfy for the piggies with all their hair.
We have blinds which I keep closed but keep the windows open and the piggies sprawl out in the cool spots (don't put them outside as I work) The set up is close to the windows and originally had the blinds fitted last winter as I am paranoid about draughts on them rolleyes but they do a good job during the warm weather too :))
I have ice pods but haven't used them yet as we are lucky to have the lounge window where it's quite shaded, not much sun beats down so the room stays cool. The piggies drink more and I give them honeydew melon/cucumber in small amounts to keep them hydrated and put an extra bottle in each pen if I'm out for any length of time.
It's perfect weather for bathing and trimming though to keep them cool ;)

I usually put mine in the big run on the grass but I left them all in their hutches yesterday in the shade - much cooler!

Haha. Fine here as in it's the middle of winter in australia! Is it summer where you are? I keep the girls and Pete with lots of hay:) Cute things. P.S Love the pics of Willow

My lot were strangely quite lively last night, and gobbled up all their veg in record time. They had their ice pods in with them all day, which should have helped. At least it feels a bit cooler today.

just brought them in as it started to rain and tia screamed blue murder like i was doing something awful to her guess she didn't want to come in :)

The piggies are fine, it's the slave that's suffering!

It's not hot up here, just muggy. I find that the piggies are very rarely bothered by the summer here unless it's very warm!

They're all munching on fresh hay at the moment, so that'll keep them occupied for a while I would have thought! :D

When its hot like this I don't tend to put my piggies out in there run as its difficult to get proper shade. I keep them indoors where its not nearly as hot and they seem fine.

I think my pigs are coping better than I am! Its a bit cooler today, and they're all in the runs.

But yesterday, I opened the hutch to get the boys out and the silly billies were snuggled together under their fleece like it was a duvet! And I'm like - its roasting, what are you doing?! :))

Parasol, cucumber to eat and wet towels on the hutch are keeping the piggies cool but I am turning into a giant, slightly loopy freckle with hot grumpy children:)
